Recently, the "Research and Application of Key Common Technologies for the Preparation of High-Quality Blade Steel for Thermal Power Generation" project, jointly developed by the research institute and other participating units including Pan Changte, was successfully evaluated by the Science and Technology Achievement Appraisal Committee of Sichuan Metal Society. The evaluation committee, composed of academicians, unanimously concluded that the overall technology of this project has reached the international advanced level, and the technology for controlling the Al and Si contents in the blade steel has reached the international leading level.
To accelerate the domestic production process of high-quality blade steel and improve the quality stability control of a series of high-end blade steel products, Changan Steel initiated research on key control technologies for high-quality blade steel in 2019. Focusing on three common challenges, namely "cleaning and purification smelting technology for low-Si and low-Al blade steel", "stable control technology for trace B elements", and "regulation technology for all-process precipitated phases", they conducted systematic research and developed a complete set of technologies for the clean purification smelting of high-quality blade steel for thermal power generation, stable control of trace B elements, and regulation of all-process precipitated phases.
During the research and development period of this project, 7 national invention patents were authorized, 14 academic papers were published, 9 enterprise proprietary technologies were developed, and 1 national standard was drafted and revised. Currently, this complete set of technologies has been widely applied and promoted in Pan Changte, achieving stable industrial production of a series of high-quality high-end blade steels and partial domestic substitution. The series of blade steels produced by this project have been widely used in various types of thermal power coal-fired units, with good usage effects, significantly enhancing the R&D and manufacturing capabilities of major energy equipment in China and the competitiveness of product markets, and effectively promoting the comprehensive domestication of key components of national heavy equipment.
